Da Nang is one of Vietnam’s most exciting coastal cities, blending vibrant food culture, scenic beaches, cultural landmarks, and unforgettable day trips. Whether you’re visiting for a few days or using it as a base to explore Central Vietnam, Da Nang offers something for every traveler. Here’s a curated guide to the top things to do in Da Nang.

1. Discover Da Nang’s Food Scene on a Guided Food Tour

Central Vietnamese cuisine is completely different from what you’ll find in Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City. Da Nang is known for dishes like crispy bánh xèo, turmeric-infused mì Quảng, flavorful bánh mì, and fresh seafood specialties.

If you’re short on time, a guided evening food tour is the best way to understand local flavors quickly. These tours take you through street food hubs where you can sample regional favorites such as fish cake noodle soup, tapioca dumplings, grilled meats wrapped in betel leaves, and local desserts. Starting your trip with a food tour helps you confidently explore the city’s eateries afterward.

2. Visit the Iconic Pink Da Nang Cathedral

Da Nang Cathedral, often called the Pink Church, is one of the city’s most photographed landmarks. Built nearly a century ago, its pastel pink façade and Gothic-style architecture make it a favorite stop for travelers and photographers.

Located in the city center, it’s easy to include this charming church during sightseeing or a casual walk through downtown Da Nang.

3. Watch the Dragon Bridge Fire & Water Show

One of Da Nang’s most unique attractions is the Dragon Bridge, which comes alive every Saturday and Sunday at 9:00 PM. The dragon’s head breathes fire and sprays water while crowds gather along the Han River.

Vietnamese coffee culture is world-famous, and Da Nang is a great place to experience it hands-on. Coffee workshops teach you how to prepare popular local drinks such as egg coffee, coconut coffee, and salt coffee.

It’s a fun and interactive way to learn about Vietnam’s coffee traditions and a skill you can take home with you.

8. Visit the Cham Sculpture Museum

History enthusiasts should not miss the Cham Museum, home to the largest collection of Cham artifacts in Vietnam. The Cham civilization thrived in Central Vietnam for centuries and left behind remarkable sculptures, carvings, and religious art.

This museum is an excellent way to understand the region’s ancient past in a short amount of time.

9. See the Golden Bridge at Ba Na Hills

A trip to Sun World Ba Na Hills is one of the most popular day trips from Da Nang. Located in the mountains, this European-style resort complex features cable cars, gardens, temples, amusement rides, and the famous Golden Bridge, held up by giant stone hands.

You can easily spend an entire day here enjoying the cool weather, scenic views, and unique attractions.

10. Watch the Sunrise at My Khe Beach

Early mornings at My Khe Beach offer a fascinating cultural experience. Before sunrise, locals gather to swim, exercise, play sports, and socialize.

11. Explore the Marble Mountains

The Marble Mountains are one of Da Nang’s most famous landmarks. These limestone hills are filled with caves, Buddhist temples, and panoramic viewpoints.

Visitors can climb to the summit for sweeping views of the coastline and explore atmospheric caves such as Am Phu Cave, known for its dramatic Buddha statues and natural light effects.

12. Visit Da Nang’s Fresco (Art) Village

While Da Nang isn’t known for large-scale street art, the Fresco Village offers colorful murals painted by local artists. Located near the city center, this small art district is perfect for a relaxed walk and photography.
